Tach Signal..

Got a 96 ECU. Trying to drive an older-style Tachometer (12V pulse).

Anyone have a Q&D way to have the 96ECU run the regular (non-nissan) tach?

Thanks

try this: Tachometer: white/green, ac, at ECM. The ECM is located in the front of the center console on the transmission hump. The wiring is easily reached by removing the small black panel just to the front of the center console on the passenger side. the wire is in the middle row, 7th one in from the left

Oh, I got the signal.. But it is not a standard 12V tach signal.. Looks like maybe 5V, or less.. Wont drive a standard Tach.

Going to try a pullup resistor to 12V. Hope to not fry the ECU.

Got the solution (if anyone else has this problem). Add a 1K ohm pullup resistor from the tach signal line to +12v.

Works great.
