3.5 swap: Summit RPM Switch/MSD Window Switch question! Help!

I have a problem. I tried to order an RPM switch today from Summit...the Summit brand (for 8 cylinder vehicles only, he says) is out of stock and the MSD brand requires me to purchase a "pill bag" with proper 100 RPM increments (one pill bag has five pills in it). I have absolutely no idea which bag to purchase as I don't know what RPM level I'll be dealing with. Can anyone help me? Thx.

It (summit)still works with a V6, just the #'s are off, i.e 3500 = 5500 etc.

I was thinking of doing this and running the VI, but I think I'm going to mod the manifold instead and run the EU.

Buy a MSD 8969, no pills required, can be set for any RPM and works well with 6 cyl. The EU will also work well.

To control the VI power valve. I'm sure you already knew that but why'd you ask?

Understood, but not everyone knows about it/knows how to do it/cares to do it. He wants to control the VI and is asking how to do it.

Actually, I'm totally open to suggestions. I may be interested in gutting the manifold (as GoalieKeg referred to), using an RPM switch, etc. I'm hoping to decide what to do by the early to middle part of next week (when the motor goes in). Suggestions?

i'm very budget oriented, so the cheapest way was the way for me. It also yielded some gains. (at least on my calibrated butt dyno)

you could always have the valve zip tied open or closed to see what power you're missing/gaining in the rpm band.

I've dynod it and saw a large loss in tq, but not change after 3.8k activation.

meximelt also did a dyno with his VTC-less A32B.
