Hey guys...name these three (sensors?)!

At the driver's side end of the front valve cover on the '97 3.0 wiring harness/motor, there are three plugs. They are ALL worked into that metal air duct network that is at least a part of the EGR system. One is green, one is brown and one is black. Each one has three separate vacuum fittings...one on one end and two on the other. What are they and how does one route the vacuum lines, given the fact that my EGR system has been removed on the 3.5 swap? It looks as if the "Boost Sensor" vacuum line routes in to the brown one. I'm getting a "MAP/Baro" code right now and I'd like to get it taken care of. Thanks guys.

i would guess one or two of them perform the function of opening/closing the egr valve

Green is the EGR and it controls the flow of port vacuum to the EGR, which intern opens and shuts the EGR valve.

Black is the EVAP solenoid vacuum. This controls the flow of EVAP gases to the engine from the rear canister.

Brown is the MAP/BARO switch. It switches between the manifold VAC and the midpipe air. It depends on what the ECU wants.

IF you get a copy of the FSM it goes into detail on how those systems are routed and such.

Thanks for the responses. What I'm really wondering (and I have checked the FSM) is: How can/should I hook up the Map/Baro given the fact that the metal air duct network has been removed from the car and it seems to route lines b/w three or four different devices, not all of which are still on the car? I know which vacuum port goes from it (the Map/Baro) to the "Boost Sensor (absolute pressure sensor), but I'm not sure about what to do with the other two ports on the Map/Baro...thanks.

You obviously didn't check the FSM well enough. I found it in a matter of seconds.

The top nipple that's by itself needs to be hooked up to vacuum from the manifold. The nipple in the middle needs to goto the MAP sensor. The last one get's hooked up to the midpipe.

OK...last questions (I think). What's the "midpipe"? Also, where does it show that information? Thx.

The pipe between the MAF and Throttle body is the midpipe.... On the FSM look up on chapter EC (Engine Control) codes P0105 or P1105 and it shows some diagrams.

OK...I'm sorry to appear so dense, but I no longer have the factory equipment (the accordion tube) running from the MAF to the throttle body (excepting the large plastic "resonator" right next to the MAF that has two larger hoses (one for the front valve cover and one for the IACV) and one smaller vacuum fitting (is this the one you're talking about?).

OT, but, does anyone by chance have the EC section for the '95 FSM? phat20.net's FSM for '95 is missing it.

What you described earlier (the "box" with the hoses coming off of it) is what he's referring to as the factory midpipe. I consider the accordian tube part of that, but it doesn't really matter in this situation.

Ahh, OK...now if I could just get a handle on the "multiple cylinder misfire" code 0701 (see other thread), I'd be golden.
