Re: Throttle Body For 3.5 Swap

I was wondering if you can ONLY 01-02 Pathfinder throttle body?? Or can other throttle bodys be used??? Like lets say an 03 altima 3.5 throttle body??

i believe the 03 altima 3.5 is also drive by wire. i believe jclaw had issues with the 3.5 drive by wire when he used the altima engine. If my knowledge doesn't fail me, the 01-02 pathfinder is the only 3.5 engine that isn't drive by wire so it'll work perfectly with the engine swap. dont quote me on that tho.

I wont quote ya but that'll convince me enough not to buy that one. Thanks for the help. So i'd rather just stick to the stickie and get an 01-02 throttle body.

Thats interesting. I'm just kinda confused b/cuz in the sticky it says 01-02 so not sure exactly which year. I'll keep looking and get opinions, if all else fails i'll just go with 01.

Pretty easy to convert the stock 3.5 TB to cable thats what I am using. Only problem is getting the cruise to work.

I keep it around 1500 at the track but 800-1000 on the street. I use the EU and change timing to adjust it rather than do it manually.

I can adjust mine manually with the screw down to where it stalls.

I can confirm that both an 01 and 02 TB will work. The PF didn't go drive-by-wire until 03.

*Confirmed using the Nissan FAST program

I've been calling places to get a tb and they've been asking me what production date the car was made. So i'm wondering if just as long as it's 01 or 02 it's good. And the production date doesnt matter to me??

07/00 or 08/00 production dates work fine.

is it that there isnt enough space to put the plate for cruise control when converting the drive by wire? From images I've seen, looks like there isnt enough space to fit it on.

what do you mean?? if you use the pathfinder tb you should be able to fit the cruise control on there with no problem only problem is when you do the conversion from the drive by wire tb to a drive by cable...i dont' think it's possible to use the cruise.

I was refering to if you retro the drive by wire, not sure if there is enouh space to fit the cruise control.

the Pathy TB is already set, just bolt up with an adapter plate and you're done.

if you use the PF TB, you must make an adapter plate to fit it to the 3.5 FWD intake manifold. The mounting holes are different.
