Safc2 wiring question

Hey guys I'm souped because I just picked up a used safc2 and a walbro. The only problem is is that the wiring harness for the safc is completely hacked. I plan on replacing the wires with thicker gauge wires and I was just wondering if the step down in resistance over whatever distance I need to use would somehow mess up my tuning ability.

Am I just crazy?

whats wrong with the wiring? their is no need to use thicker wire! The wiring for the safc is just fine the size it is.

replace it with the same awg wire, having a large gauge wont serve much purpose

I dont see why it would interfere with readings.

Yeah again, I'm crazy and was worried about the change in resistance skewing some of the signals coming through the wires.

I've been looking for pinout diagrams for my car, but I can only find wiring diagrams for an 02 in the All Motor section in the faqs. Can someone either confirm that that pinout is also for my year (2000), or show me where to go so I can get this puppy up and running!

Thanks,

DF

Sorry I just have too many little questions, so I guess I'll throw them all in here too.

1. What should I do about the first turnover once installing a walbro, safc2, and cartech.

2. Do I need an afpr at this point, or will the stock one manage?

3. With h/y/i/cleared out exhaust, what kind of power should I be looking at after a dyno tune?

it needs to be hosted on a better site, the bandwidth will run out once it hits a certain number of downloads in a 24hour period. so if anyone has a better site to host from go at it.

Just 2 more questions........

1. There's conflicting ways of setting up the 2 grounds, I assume both work and I can take my pick?

2. I guess there's supposed to be a purple wire? I have a safc2 and it has these wires: red, blue, green, yellow, white, gray, black, brown, pink, and orange......in another thread I read that the purple wire was to go to the knock sensor......

Thanks again,

DF

Safc2 is up and running, but there's one problem. There's something wrong with the MAF wiring. I definetly have the correct wire, but when I turn the car on it slowly stalls out.

I unplugged the maf and it runs just like it does when I also cross the Yellow and White wires (tried it just to make sure).

Am I missing some sort of secret here?
