3.3 is the bore I have read about for the 3.0 but IF you could bore .5L people would probably be boring the 3.5 to a 4.0...but for 7k you can get the 3.5 bored to a 4.3...do it to your 3.0 and let us know how it goes!...

Then again you can just get that kit and bore out to 4.3L . Just look at 7 grand and kiss it good bye. I am curious to see other's comments in this thread.

If you can get a 3.5 engine for around $700, why would you spend twice as much or even more to bore a 3.0 out to a 3.5, just to tell everyone you still have a 3.0??? I can't see anyone with more than half a brain doing this.

OMFG. Spending all that money only to make less power and torque than a full 3.5.

Yes the idea is great and it sounds good. However, it makes no sense to spend so much MORE $ than a 3.5 swap to make less power in return. The full 3.5 engine has ALOT of potential and so far all the swaps that have been going on have not come close to optimizing it, including myself.

Not to mention that nobody besides very knowledgeable maxima enthusiasts can tell the difference between a 3.0 and 3.5 at a glance... so it's not like you'd be fooling anyone. If no one knows the difference, why bother to try to be sneaky about it in the first place. Overall a completely worthless idea...

Exactly what I was thinking.... most people will look at Maximas and not know anything about what engine it originally comes with...I always get the... so is it a 4 cylinder!!??

I can hardly wait to hear what people will be assuming once I do my swap... 90% sure people will either be asking if I'm turbo'ed or assuming I'm squeezing....

Thats what I like about the 3.5 swap and Maximas in general.... everybody looks at them as grocery-getters.... and I've had a few tell me why dont I get a car that I can make fast..... little do they know!

Hell, do like some have done here, use the pathfinder heads then one of our regular intake choices (00VI, MEVI, or even USIM...) and put that plastic front spark plug cover on, and it looks no different than a VQ30.
