Blown Tranny, Now what?

I blew my first gear while doing a burnout at the drag strip today. Actually it wasn't even during the burnout it was right after when I did a short launch to practice before the REAL launch and race. Booom goes first gear and I pushed my car out of the race lane.

As I don't have a large pot of money to fix/replace the broken parts, I was wondering if anyone has an economical suggestion.

I've thought of a few options but I have no idea what the cost would be:

Used junkyard tranny: ~ $400
New tranny~ $?
Shot peaned gears~ $?
Rebuild current tranny ~ nearly the same as junkyard tranny

Are there stonger gears that I could buy or do i have to ship the gears out to be processed?

Buy a cheap used tranny and save up to rebuild the broken one. Or save up for a 6speed swap

Otran here on maxriders comp.

hahahaha "save up". I wish, but I need my car back on the road soon, and from what i've read the 6sp is 2X more expensive and more parts need to be swapped.

Oh, then I would still just buy a working tranny and see what you can do to beef up your broken one.

I've searched on this topic to no prevail, I don't feel like starting another thread so here it is:

Are the gears in the MFA60 interchangeable with the 4th gen gear box?
