Blown Tranny and/or Clutch.

02 engine is been swapped in, swap was pretty successful short of an idling issue. One morning it was imperative I got to work and my self revving car was the only way. After I get to work, and drive around the building a few times to let the battery get just a little more charger. I go to park the vehicle, put it in reverse and park it. I feel chatter but the sound graduates to a clunking sounds, just after the clunking started it stopped along with everything else. No power, to lights, no nothing. Volt gauge was bouncing between voltage readings, but only when the door was open. Removed the negative battery terminal and the bouncing ceased. Have tried cranking the car as it need a jump (battery toast) and I noticed my RPM gauge is at 8K with the car off.

I think an electrical problem might be present or my alternator goes bad as I saw my ABS light come one, go off, I roll up the windows the music CD skips, when I revved the engine high in neutral power fluctuates, light flicker, go out etc.

Just wanted to get a variation of perspectives. I will be spending the better part of my Saturday examining my car.

the fun never stops

i agree with ^^, but its weird because when most alternators go bad, they throw out a low charge to none. Yours sounds like its spiking! Did you inspect the alternator's ground?

havent gotten to do any inspections on the car, when it happened I was 1 mintue from being late for work. Towed the car home and it get dark and cold quick so Saturday will be warm and I'll examine then.

Bad alternator is starting to make more sense. When revving the engine naturally that spins the belts faster, producing a bigger charge, the one rev could have been enough to kill the alternator.

I hope its not the clutch or tranny cause shifts were butter smooth (except 1st gear chatter) and no signs of imminent failure with the tranny.
