i know this thread is a little old but i didnt want start a new one just to let everyone know that the headers didnt line up with my y pipe. everyting looks good when holding the y pipe up except the 2 header exits are like half an inch too far apart....
anyone have any advice? i bottomed out on my y pipe pretty hard once and flattened it out but i dont think that changed the shape of it that much....im thinking of just trying to get an exhaust shop to cut the pipe and extend it that extra half an inch or whatever it is. But lets say i want a new y pipe in the future, then i have to get that one cut and modified too...ugh.

yea thats pretty much your only option. Sucks about the future y-pipe if it needs to be changed. I suggest that if it ever comes to a point that you want to change y-pipe, be on the lookout for used HS headers.

Yeah... it almost makes me wonder if I can't cut it myself and get some sort of sleeve to slide on there and fill the gap and clamp with those exhaust clamps to hold it there for temporary.
Wish I could weld

For what? I can't afford their headers...I'd end up spending more on the headers than I did on the engine.

I apologize. I thought you had Cattman headers, hence my post.

So has anyone installed the re-designed OBX headers? Would like to pickup a set if there isn't any MAJOR issues.

A suggestion:

Most good "muffler" or exhaust shops could easily make you one. Cut out a short section of the pipe (for exact measurements), figure out how much you need, take it to a good shop and have them cut a piece of pipe identical to yours and swage out the ends so the pipe will slip over your pipe on both ends. Use clamps to tighten up both ends. Probably a few bucks for a quick fix......

i found an exact fit at autozone and all i had to do was cut a half inch section out of the y pipe then slip and clamp the piece on there and it works perfectly.
whew.
