5.0 Gen Valve Body vs 4th gen valve body?

Are they the same? I have someone interested in my Maxxtunning VB and he owns a 4th gen. Can we do the swap, or are the VB's different? When I did the install I used a 4th gen write up and it was the exact same in regards to install directions.

Kevin, I was just about to post here as well. I'm going to PM Jay and give Vic Simone a ring this weekend, and find out. I'm pretty sure its the same VB as well, since our engines are almost identical with the exception of the IM.

I'll get back to you shortly on TMEC, within a week. How's that sound?

I'd imagine they are the same. Tranny's are pretty much the same from 95-01.

When I got an '01 trans from Dixit a while back (he had already sold the VB so I put my own in) the harness connector for the solenoids was different. It disconnected inside the case as well as the usual connector right outside the case. I had to remove that harness and install the A32 solenoid harness. Check the pinout and connector type between A32 and A33, beyond that they should be the same.

The valve bodies are different due to the differences in shift solenoid packs. For 2000-2001, one of the ports in the valve body for the solenoids is smaller in diameter (shift solenoid A) than the 4th gen and the shift solenoids operate within slightly different resistance perimeters with the TCM. This means you can swap valve bodies, but the solenoids have to stay with their corresponding valve body, which means the solenoids have to stay with their corresponding TCM due to different solenoid resistance values between 4th and 5th gens.
