camshafts

I looked in the stickies and didn't find what I was looking for.

What are the differences between JWT S1 cams and the Nismo R-tune 262 cams? Which one would be more power worthy, yet keep a subtle "daily-driver" feel? If the cams are for sale "used" from a 350Z, then would they be compatible with a 6th gen Maxima?

thanks and sorry if these are n00b questions

The JWT S1's are generally regarded as the more aggressive of the two.

the first link means nothing to me since I don't know what all of those numbers mean but the second link was good stuff! auto=loss of low end, but a hella lot on the top end.

so would cams from a 350z motor (non rev-up) fit a 6th gen maxima?

No i meant that i posted something that was completely ignored. Only reason i posted it was because i thought it would help make your decision as to which set to go for. Guess not...

Well, I'm not really in the market for them right now, just in the "research phase," sorry for upsetting you

ya, s1 = little less low end and little more top end than the nismo. nismo is a bit on the mild side as far as aggressiveness is concerned. i have nismo cams sitting in my garage but have yet to install it. i beleive these cams will deliver enough low end for suitable daily driving and have the top end for some good power.

i also saw on a online article on the 350z+nismo cams and it made less power under 4, but built power past 4 up until redline. i believe it was 15hp peak.

You already do, 4 of them to be exact, half of them w/ variable timing.

Anyone thinking about cams should not pay attention to their stock redline, get upgraded rod bolts, perhaps some HR valve springs &/or other upgradeable units.

I don't see why you can't use the any of the VQ35 cams, just as long as you get them drilled with spacers or get adapters.

Have you ever read the stickys?

I would try the thread labeled Links to threads with useful information

Keep in mind, you have a VQ30

There are 4 of them for one thing.

And what makes you think American vehicle aftermarket cams will be any less expensive, especially quad cam vehicles?

Don't like the aftermarket here, find one that suits you better, until then, post something useful.
