Taller 5th gear?

I have a 2000 5spd trans and it's out of the car to install a Quaife and new bearings. Is there a taller 5th gear option for better highway mileage?

Will the Quaife interfere with the FD change?

As long as it is not for a VLSD, then it should be fine. I know the VLSD had more bolts than the open diff.

Maybe, maybe not. I work about 14 hours a day now M-F and sometimes weekends. If I show, the car won't run on the track...trans is off now, motor is partially torn down, don't know if all the parts I need are going to show up in time for Maxus.

We'll find out next week for sure as that's when my Quaife, bearings, and Altima gears go in.

Yes, the altima FD's will fit the maxima trans. I'm in the process of installing a maxima quaife diff in my altima trans but I'm using a 4.12 FD out of pulsar gti-r.

Don't mind the modification that I had to do the gti-r ring gear to fit the max diff. My point is that max and alti trans parts can be interchanged except for the housings.
