3.5 swap getting me angry now

ok so i finish the new clutch and and start the car and everytings fine...then the car just shuts off no rough idle just flat on its face...so i crank it again and the car will not start the starter is smoking and im getting pissed..l...i see a ground wire that is melted..(the one by the alternator where the headlight goes)...then i plug the little ground that goes in the back of the trans near the speed sensor and the car turns on and everythings fine...then today after a 40 mile drive i shut the car off and come back out to start it and it will not start... it will crank fast and then it sounds like the starter just does not want to work anymore..battery is new starter is 3 months old and as far as i can see all grounds are good...someone please help me before i part this shyt out and say Fack it....this swap has given me nothing but headaches

1. iam not trying to be an A$$ but if you though you couldnt handle something so big you should have had someone help or had someone with more experience do it.
2. check all your connections. you said you have a melted wire check that.
3. Dont give up

Sounds like different grounding issues.

1. How is your harness ground? What is it grounded to?

2. Did you make sure the engine/tranny mating surfaces were clean before reassembly?

yes i did nismo..the car will run fine when i popstart it but when i try to crank it normally ..it trys to start but wont turn over

i know its sometihng stupid but im getting my *** kicked trying to start it... the starter is getting a little too hot also......fuel seems fine because when i pop start the car it runs like a champ..

so i got another starter and put it in and the thing still wont start have spark and fuel.....but no start.....someone please give me a diagram of some good grounding spots and please tell me anything i overlooked

Did you check the relay. Look at the FSM and start looking at the electrical for the ignition system.

im good now i put new grounds and grounded my main ground to the trans

Glad you figured it out. I was about to suggest cleaning and checking the bell housing/re-grounding the transmission. This seems to solve 98% of people's starting problems with your exact symptoms.
