Removed the butterfly on my vq35 today
Without a catch can there's almost always going to be at least a little. Mine had a good bit even after 6 months after my 00VI swap, and I had the inside of the manifold sparking clean when I put it on.

ive been running a filter on the PVC line like some subbie guys do, and when i did the SSIM i still found a bit of oil in there. i do a good bit of racing at the track so i experience a lot of blowby, but i was still surprised. if you arent running any catch can or filter dont be the least bit surprised

This thread is very informative & technical (credit: Jime), especially the last few pages. Take a look.

yeah yeah pcv i know, the first time i saw about the filter was a thread a couple years ago and was first brought up from someone who cited a subbie site. if it was here before that then ok, it really doesnt matter. ive read the many threads before and im not sure why i havent gotten around to actually setting up a catch can style. maybe it lies in the future
