causes of clutch disc spring failure
so im on clutch #2, which is my old 3.0 spec stage 3, because my first one had several springs come out. it apprears that its happening again. i can hear a rattling noise at idle and at low revs in gear. i know that a worn pilot bushing can cause this, but for some reason, i thought i saw that quite a few 5spd swap guys arent even running one, is this true? what are other potential causes? what can i do to make it last as long as possible as i just sent my broke one into spec and am not sure just how quickly ill get it back?
any input/knowledge is appreciated.
btw, the broken disc was a spec stage 2 3.5l. sensing a pattern?

FTR, the input shaft doesn't come close to fitting in the pilot bushing on 5m/t's at least, it's only purpose is for clutch alignment, it serves no functional purpose.
Stop buying spec clutches!!! allthough I'm only basing that opinion on 1 personal experience on a 300zxtt. Also, make sure you aren't 'hanging the gearbox' during install.
