VQ35 more top end power

i remember a thread when some1 dynoed a 3.5 with the manifold vias actuator fully closed and then fully opened. fully opened it lost the mid rpm torque;fully cosed it lost power up top until about 58rpms then made more power after 58rpms and there was talk about using a rpm window switch to operate the actuator normally(closing 1800rpm through +-3800rpm,then opening) untill about 5800rpms to close it again. Is there any one with info on this?We need more top end power combined with headers...

That thread is somewhat misleading. The original poster was not aware that supplying power to the VIAS solenoid actually closes it. He had it backwards.

ok, the green is actually closed(hence the more low end power and torque untill 4000rpms) but then after 5800rpms it mokes more power fully closed about 25 more horses at fuel cut.

The red is fully opened(hence the increased mid range power and torque) but after 5800rpms it has less power and torque and about 25 horses less at fuel cut.

But it was what the OP was looking for. Just inverse the wording open/closed.

Maybe because he was not using ant vvt with his 3.5 swap... I will be dyno tuning later this week. If i have dyno time remaining, my last pull i will dyno with VI closed to see if it makes more power past 5800.

No, I was not using vvt, just a straight out swap with VQ30 timing. Please do post results as I have yet to see anyone else do a similar study.

Thanks for looking out. I have edited/corrected that thread just in case any one else stumbles onto my dyno chart.
