torx sizes for vq studs?
torx sizes for vq studs?
gonna buy a set of sockets and wondering what sizes i will encounter. right now i'm just working on the heads, but i will be building a complete engine.
If the latter: http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...5&postcount=29. Not torx, but hex.
Unless you're asking for everything (i.e. bottom end too), in which case the girdle bolts are http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...37&postcount=1

I ended up buying this kit to remove the cylinder heads off of the block, as I could not find a 1/2" impact grade 10 mm hex socket by itself.
I kept breaking the normal 10 mm hex sockets trying to remove those head bolts. With these I used my impact gun set on low to break the head bolt loose, then I loosened them in steps following the FSM removal pattern.
The kit is expensive but these work great and I've used the other sizes on different projects.
For the torx bolts I bought the "better quality" 3/8" Torx kit from Autozone.
I've taken apart a couple VQs with these and have not had any problems or broken parts.
