Gizzmo Launch controll/ Shift light
I know there was a thread over in the boosted forum about these items. Just wanted to let anyone know who may be intrested that i just purchased these items to test out and got overnight shipping so they should be installed by the weekend. Ill be sure to get some video clips of it in action. The launch controller has been debated by many to even work on the VQ but according to the company themselves they told me it works on the 350z/g35 no problems aswell as the 300zx, they have just not tested it on any maximas yet. Im almost positive it will work given how it works internally. Should be a good alternitave for those that still want a 2-step at the track. However its not really cheap and i could sure go without some stupid ricer shiftlight but o well as long as the 2-step launch works im happy with it

lol yea i thought about that at first but i need to be able to see it in order to see the flash codes or w/e it does when you turn a feature on and off but i know it flashes at you to show the settings. Really dont know why they had to put this into a damn shift light though seriously!
I do have one concern right now about this though, Sense it is a tach recall shiftlight it shows its rpm settings via stock tach. If it does this it must be outputting voltage through the "tach signal" wire. In which case my piggyback will be reading the voltage aswell sense there both on the tach line. I dont have upgraded injectors so i dont really need to tune low throttle otherwise that may be a headache. If im setting the launch rpm to 5k the piggyback will read 5K with 0% throttle so stay in the lo maps but still if i had any corrections there it would preform them even though the car is idle i would think.
Otherwise that might be a good thing aswell because i will have a digital readout on the piggyback of what the rpm really is set to vs the all mighty stock tach
*EDIT*
Nevermind while looking at the wiring diagram i see theres a tach in and tach out. So it WONT play a role in anything that i typed above sense the piggyback will be attached to tach in yay.

It was $318 total plus shipping. I searched and searched for someone who had them in stock and most drop shipped and sense there not based in america it would take weeks to ship. Then i found out that "gizzmo USA" dealer was based out of CT and stocked the items through the co named tunertools.com i called and they had them so i ordered.
Yes its expensive, but i already had a apexi neo brand new sitting here aswell as a wideband. I had planned on using EU had it purchased but i ended up selling it locally to a friend with a 350z in order to see if this combo worked (less wiring hassle and headaches setting up). Sure i wont get an extended rev limit or direct timing controll aswell as a few other large bennifits of the EU, but i will be able to take advantage of all possable power on tap currently and have a heck of a launch at the track if this thing works as it says.

UPDATE!!
The launch controll function does not work! The shift light works fine, the recall function works fine. The problem is you need to intercept each ingition coil signal from the ecu and when they go through the controll box the ecu for w/e reason thinks theres no coils connected and will not start and throw a bunch of codes for igition. The reason i know its the box itself is i left the wires exacly the same but ran jumper wires from the input to the output wires using quick connects and the car fired right up.
Result: Sadly this does not work for our cars

yes i have and let them know all the tests i did and everything so they looked into there cefiero/maxima ecu and ignition system and relized the maxima ignition system will not read properly with the launch controll interface. They have issued me a refund and shipping label to send it all back which is GREAT customer service. They also have updated there website to reflect that the maxima is not compatable: http://www.gizzmoelectronics.com/Pro...Interface.html
