hey guys i have read that if you raise your fuel pressure and use tuning software like a vafc and pull fuel out it will add a little bit of timing. well since i run nitrous is there a way to pull timing out with the vafc? i was just curious if by doing to opposite, turning back the fuel pressure and add fuel with the vafc, would be a way to do it. just wondering any input would be great. thanks

maybe you should go read the thread before posting a response.. the first post, last sentence has the same assumption that xlcrew is making and asking about..

imo.. like i said before i wouldnt toy with the idea of doing that.. because whos to say your fuel pump (main problem) wont get worse as it goes on.. i dont want to see you blow your motor.. not to mention your 02 situation.. oh yeah and doesnt mike work like walking distance away from you?

what you need to be worrying about is how youre going to get your afr set once you install the IM spacer and new MAF housing!

 

I would never count on an AFC device to add fuel. If it fails for w/e reason you're on the lean side of things.


I say sell the AFC, get an EB, and be done with it. My opinion, of course.

 

The thread I provided actually provides quantitative data showing what he is asking about. It shows that adding fuel via AFC(MAF) retards timing, take it as you may, but it is what it is.

 

understandable but when looking at the data it doesnt completely retard timing all in all.. so that was why the question was asked about doing the opposite.. which mike said he never did.. just assumed how it would lay out.. i figured that was pretty clear tho.. guess not

If you wanted the EB, you could have it now for what a SAFCII goes for, and not have to play the guessing game (re: timing retard )
