Whining under partial throttle
I figured I should have posted in here to get a much more technical and better response then what the 5th Gen Forum was providing........
I have a whine when in any gear and under partial throttle (5-10%). If I get off the throttle while in gear the whine goes away. When the throttle is depress past 20% either the whine is gone or the engine noise muffles out the whine. I am under the impression that it is my clutch and or throwout bearing. I've read other post that it's possibly something to do with the tranny and synchros. I'm unsure at this point, can anyone help or has had this issue? What was the diagnostics and outcome?
As well, when in 1st gear going from a stop and I release the clutch to get the car moving forward I have a hint of a "cluck" sound coming from the tranny region. It's like something is not catching or I'm not hooking until the car moves. This does not occur when starting to roll from a stop in 2nd gear. I'm sure the culprit is related, just need to see if I need a new clutch (better then oem will be had) & (lightweight flywheel will follow if I do), or if a new tranny will solve this issue. I have HLSD as well.
Thanks for thoughts and prior experience.

btw, I was at the track today. One of the runs I slipped out of 1st on the dig and it was a hard slip. (They sprayed VHT on the staging area right when I went up) I'm sure that had something to do with it as well. Had some good times though, but didn't notice this issue until we were leaving and sloppymax pointed it out to me.

I'm looking for an upgraded performance clutch now and also the lightest weight flywheel I can get away with. Might try a Spec Clutch Stage 3 Carbon Kevlar 6 puck clutch. (Will be spraying 125 shot until the release of the 3.5 timing chain cover from Matty, then plan to put a smaller shot to that also.) Had this in my Legend Coupe 6-speed and it was a great setup. What's the consensus on these 2. Maybe I can get a faster answer while I weed through the search.
