No start issue after motor swap
No start issue after motor swap
IS there anything that would cause my starter to not enguage
after doing a motor swap?
I have to turn the car on/off a few times before the starter will do ANYTHING
Im thinking maybe aground, but the starter grounds directly to the engine.
The engine is ground to the frame all over the place.
My starter wire is cranked tight and clean.
Before I rip my starter out and replace it.I want some input from my peeps
I posted another thread in the wrong spot more in depth. Here

What do you mean?
Hold it in the start position while I tap it with a hammer?
I wanted to try and jump the selenoid when it wont start,to see if thats it."if it even has an externaly wired 1" Which I didnt see.
I only seen the 1 power wire on the starter.
Come to think of it.
There has to be a wire somewhere to trigger that starter dont there?
On the selenoid....
Or is everything controlled by relays?Im pretty sure I traced the starter wire to a big breaker which was tied into a relay.
I had a starter relay once that acted exactly like this in a volvo

If the ground wire doesn't work.....(yes try that first) What's weird is the starter ground issue usually causes a no-start duriong cranking. Instead, with it being a 6th gen and me seeing this problem except not intermittently.....
What is the security light doing during all of this? If it is (staying on when it won't crank, or whatever it doesn't do normally) Look under the hood, when looking at the engine on the left side is the IPDM box, intelligent power distribution module, it's just a fuse box though, unbolt it and check the connections on the back, or you can go in the FSM and find out what fuse #'s the BCM uses and check them for power when it won't crank.

The security light on the dash board ?
It stays solid.
When the car is armed it blinks.
The engine light blinks 4 times and beeps a sound as it blinks.
When I turn the key to start, most of the warning lights come on,but nothing happens.
Someone tell me how to manually jump the starter when it wont start, then I will know if its the alarm or security problem.
I only see one thick positive wire on the starter,WHY? How is the starter activated?
I see some starters look different,2004-2007 I see one with a square plug and the big power wire. But Im not sure if mine has that square plug in the back cause its not visable.
