How would an MREV2 compare to these?

But I've got a little somethin-somethin' extra..

3/8" Spacer from Powerlab.

Doesn't concern me.

If one isn't enough I can double 'em up. Sure the car will look like it has been in a bad accident, but at least it wont rub.

Any particular reason you went with the 3/8th's spacer from Powerlabs?

Any truth behind this statement?.......nismology or anyone else?

If you have a non-revup motor (6600RPM redline), your best bang for your buck is to get the 5/16" spacer. The 5/16" spacer makes the most HP for the money. OR, you may choose to get the MREV2. By replacing your stock lower collector (MREV) with this better flowing version, you will make better "area under the curve" on the dyno in terms of HP gain. My opinion is that you should choose one or the other -- either MREV2 OR 5/16" spacer. If you get both, the HP gain will exhibit "diminishing returns", meaning you will spend a lot more money to make not much extra HP. So, usually the recommended option for the non-revup guys is to get the 5/16" spacer.

I think in this application, the 5/16"is the best for overall area under the curve.

Would be interesting if someone tried the revup lower intake manifold. If it's benefical to the maxima guys, they can be had cheaper.

You "could" try to run a 5/16" spacer but if you need more room, one "could" try to shave the lower collector manifold where it meets the lower intake manifold.

And they claim a pretty good gain but then again it might just be hyped up. Oh well.

6/16ths is the closest they could to w/o outright copying Motordyne's 5/16th spacer. It's a good deal.

FWIW We had the AAM spacer off my Son's Z last summer and the quality of the hardware is inferior to the Motordyne. There were no spacers for the center bolts and the bolts were cheap as well in comparison, they striped the threads because they should have been a bit longer and I had to swap 3 or 4 with my Motordyne bolts and ensure that I under torqued them so they wouldn't strip my plenum.

Wow! Good input. Thanks Jime, it confirmed my already made up mind.

Matt is running the revup and says it's a dog. That thing is way worse on lowend up against the SSIM he says. I told him that it was because of the shorter runners and he concurred. I think he's going to try to put a spacer in it to see if that improves drive ability on the lowend of things.

All right. I've all but given up on my manifold. I still want to install it w/o a spacer to see just what kind of gains I could muster up w/ the reflash. I'm going to try and plan this up along with dyno numbers/comparisons around mid-May.

Sorry for bumping it. Just didn't feel like making my own thread w/o any results to show.

Yeah Im glad I didnt go with the AAM. A nissan mechanic here with a TT Z had to have some spacers made up for the bolts.

Not to thread jack, but...

To answer your question, I just hooked mine up w/ no vacuum lines. Bye bye P1800! I have the SSIM though. VIAS soleniod in the stock location.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program...

Guys, do you know if when you do this you end up with the same issue the stock Z have? from what i understand(pro nissan turbo tuner gave me info), when you boost the 350s you have to tune them fat, down to the 10.5s because there is one cyl that runs a lot leaner than the others.. just a thought incase you guys look into boosting , i didnt ask any specifics but i think it was the intake manifold. ??????????????

updates?

Interested in any updates or dynos you have. I recently picked up a non-RevUp IM and plan to do this as soon as I am back in the States for a few weeks. If I'm lucky, I might be able to convince my dad to buy an MREV2 for his G35, which would allow me to use it for some nice comparisons (with/without 5/16" MD thermal spacer).

To this question, my understanding is the following (from my readings on the Z/G forums): cylinders 1+2 run lean, which is why the the MREV2 has the tops of those runners ground down ~5 mm, among other modifications. Many people have done their own version along with P'n'P, for which there are posts and pics if anyone is interested.
