WTF!!!!! SES flashing in idle
Pulled the engine. Bored the cylinders. Had higher domed pistons forged. Polished and shaved the heads. Milled the block. Balanced the engine and tranny(6sp man). Headers. B pipe. Muffler. All cattman. 2003SE with LSD, so the thing runs like a bat out of hell. Problem: in idle the SES light flashes. The code says: random misfire. This worries me because I put a lot of $$$ and time in this engine. Any thoughts? Solutions? Will this get worse? Will I end up with scrap metal? Thanks for any and every response.

This is well above my knowledge level but I do remember reading that shaving the heads on a VQ35 will effect cam timing which may be causing your SES light.
I'm sure the gurus will step in soon.
Got anymore info on your build? Cams? Dyno?

Yeah, car is REAL rough on idle. Coils were changed. OEM spark plugs. Funny, the plugs were wet. Injectors might be weeping, but I doubt it on a random misfire. No cam change, don't think this has anything to do with the valve clearances. Underdrive pulley. I'm thinking maybe hotter plugs or sending my ECU back to technosquare.

NYC Area options?
Okay. If no one has had this type of issue, maybe someone can direct me to a speed shop in the NYC area that has the skill, tools, etc to do the job. They should be able to flash ECUs also. Thanks.

Yeah, well. I took it to a guy I know at Nissan. Turns out the flywheel bearing is shot so the holes don't line up. Also, the gear on bank 2 cam shaft is worn. So there you have it. BTW the car has 130k on it, so I don't think the investment is too severe. Thanks to all who tried to help.
