DEK w/ DE components.

Ok, so Im very close to having my DEK swapped 99 pass VA Emissions Testing. Ive got the EGR knocked out, and working on the IAC issue.

What ive tried so far.

-Plug in the IACV unit off of the DEK motor into the DE harness. No go there.
-Swap the IACV unit from the DE to the DEK TB, but told this wont work.
-Ive tried to use the TB off of the DE motor, but will not mount up to the DEK intake.

So if you are running a functioning IACV on a DEK swapped 4th gen, will you please share your parts list.

Im at wits end here. Im debating selling the car.

I am running an A33 IACV on my A32 harness(for the 00VI). It runs nicely, it dips to 500 rpms occasionally, but cold starts are not an issue.

I just followed the directions here:

Alright. Forget the above post. I have it plugged in. Now no start with it plugged in or out. After I crank the motor, and then stop, with the key in the on position, there is a tick noise. *tick, tick, tick, tick,* then when i turn the ignition off, it stops.

Im throwing two codes

P0340 - cam shaft position sensor. (which would explain the no fire. But it was working just fine before i hooked up the IACV.)
P0505 - IACV Malfunction (which is given, i dont have it hooked up.)

CSPS and the other crankshaft pos sensor can retard the timing, and affect the performance, but as far as I know, the car should still start(after some cranking)

I had a bad crankshaft pos sensor, and it would sometimes take it a few seconds to start, but always did.

is your check engine light on when just on the "on" postion???

Also when i did the 00vi swap when i swapped over the evap canister purge contol valve, my car would still start but that thing was ticking. so ever since i havent ran it and the ticking never came back

Its also possible that the starter is going bad, which can lead to the CPS code. Basically, during crank, the signals get all messed up because the starter isnt going at speed/strength, so it wont fire right.

theseare some pix of how i got my IACV to work, first i bought a IACV block off plate, then that lil triangle piece that the bolts to the bottom of the TB

of the DEK motor, i took that off and cut it to make it look like this

then i drilled a hole in it, got a 3/8 fittin, dont remember, but a big enough fitting to supply enough air from the IACV to the IM

it comes looking like this after i painted it, and welded the edges so it wont leak any air

how it looks on under the IM. i tried usung a smaller hose like other folx said, but it just didnt work for me, so i tried it this way, and it works for me

sorry for the big ole pix
