From my understanding the Cipher program will not work with a 4th gen application? I am interested in logging data, and mainly in adjusting timing for my car. Thanks for your knowledge

 

When I asked uprev to see if this would work on my car and they told me it would only work on with the newer style ECU's 04+ w/CAN BUS

 

Cipher will work just fine with an A33B. Not all of the functions, but all of the data logging, timing advance, idle speed adjustment, etc will work.

 

No. Cipher connects through the OBD-II port using the CONSULT interface, which is a separate connector for the A32.

You could always contact them to see if they've got a CONSULT connector cable, though.

Here's what it does for us (A33B).
Data logging / idle speed adjustments / base timing adjustments / fuel schedule reset / ECU reset code retrieval / fuel pressure test / coolant sensor test / cylinder pressure test / fuel injection test / clear learned fuel settings.
