When in park and rev, car wants to cut out

Last night I had the car in park and started to rev it so a buddy can hear the motor. Didn't rev to high, maybe 2.5-3. As the RPM's dropped, you here like a clicking noise like the car is has no power (sorta like the starter clicking I guess?) then kicks back on to normal. Kinda weird and no idea why this happens? I know this was an issue when I first did the swap but never went back to the issue until yesterday.

Hmm didn't think of that or bother to look at my gauge. You'd think I have a gauge for a reason lol. I'll try tonight and see what reading it gives when I do that.

How's your intake set-up? Do you have the breather from your VC on there? Or just a breather filter on the VC?

WAI, just removed the stock tubing and placed a bracket and filter to the MAF.

Is the breather hose from the valve cover to the intake connected in bewtween the TB & MAF?

Did you get a chance to check the AFR?

If all you have is a small breather filter on the valve cover (VC), then you will run very lean when in P / N and will notice the behavior you described.

I have the stock hosing to the VC as I left that stock airbox by the TB on. I'm just tied up right now with some home reno's. I'll check it out hopefully during the week and figure things out. Hopefully next month I can dedicate more time when the DE-K spacer kit and I get a new muffler put on.

Why would the car run lean with a breather filter on the valve cover? I didn't think anything like that could affect the A/F.

It's because un-metered air is entering the engine through the breather. This air never registers at the meter (MAF) therefore it is not compensated for, hence the lean condition.

There is a section in the FSM that details the PVC system / process. If you can understand that, then you should be able to understand the concept.

I see you have replied to Jime when he briefly explained it in a thread back in 2007.

I don't retain information very well. The saying should be "You re-learn something "new" every day" for me.
