Unorthodox Crank pulley Question?

Hi guys....today arrived my unorthodox racing crank pulley to my 3.5L engine. I am in the process of purchasing all the things to make this swap possible in my 4th gen. Now, i am gonna use a 2005 maxima engine with the 3.0L timing, and i make a little mistake and ordered the crank pulley for 02-06 engine. As all you know, the 1995-2000 crank pulley uses a ring for the ckps (ref).

Now my questions are:

Can i use the unorthodox pulley with the 3.0L upper pan and 3.5L ckps (REF) sensor?

if possible...any modification is needed?

Or if any suggestion on what to do for make it work....

Thanks in advance for all your income..

If you will be using 3.0 timing equipment on your 3.5 swap, such as the upper oil pan and crank sensor, then you cannot use the 02-06 pulley. The 95-01 3.0 pulley has some trigger mechanisms for the crank sensor built into it. The later pulley doesn't have them, that's why it will not work.

ok...another question... i can use 3.0 timing equipment with the 3.5 upper oil pan and crank sensor?

I imagine that if i use the 3.5 upper oil pan i have to adapt the 3.0l crank sensor and obviously i can not use the pulley.

You can use the 3.5 sensor with the 3.5 upper pan, if you change the connector on the 3.0 wiring harness to match. Easiest option in my opinion.

Or you can use the 3.0 sensor on the 3.5 upper pan by shaving down the surface to which it mounts. I think the 3.5 pan places the 3.0 sensor too far from the flywheel.

Since this is dealing with UDP's I would assume he's talking about the REF sensor for which the 3.5 oil pan has no provisions, AFAIK.

Son of a.........I guess the 3.5 oil pan does have holes to mount the REF sensor after all. (duh....how else would all these swapper be using the 3.5 pan.)

Bump.

I just got a Ralco pulley.. and one of the nubs (there's 4 total, 2 right next to each other and 2 apart from each other) is bent.. Is that normal or is it damaged? And if it's damaged can I simply just bend it back??
