Question, did you buy adapters to use the vq30 timing on the 3.5? If so can you please post what this entails.

Figure out where you want the valve to sit in the bay then go from there, shorter/bigger the hoses the better, need to improvise. You drill/thread or weld a fitting on the plenum near the TB, at the VIAS (if you're blocked off) - I ran it through the UIM onto an adapted egr port blockoff on my 00vi and it worked fine. Ideally, you could have a threaded fitting going into the IACV blockoff threaded directly into the UIM, bypassing an IACV->plenum hose altogether so it's not actually a 'remote' mount.

Am I overlooking something? Shouldn't the 4th gen FPR be on the other side and going to the return? If you keep the 5th gen damper on the feed side and put the 4th gen FPR on the other side the fuel rail will always maintain the factory pressure and you won't have to mess with that ebay crap. The factory nissan fuel regulators are designed to be at the end of a fuel rail to maintain a certain pressure and release any extra fuel back to the tank, right?

you are correct, I had the fpr on the feed side instead of the return side.

Looking good, smart choice on swapping the pans, you would have had a big gaping hole behind your flywheel afterwards & a cps that sits in a ****ty spot. Did you remove the '08's baffle from the main girdle or remove the 3.0's from the pan?

Yeh, I was completely thrown when I first saw that spanking new motor with the big chunk missing from the pan. I elected to go with the 3.0 pans. I thought it was a no-brainer considering the matching hole patters and sensor mounting. Now my act clutch is safely contained instead of being exposed to the elements.

removed the 3.0 from the pan.

6000 on this swap now, my daily driver.
