EU install questions - 98 max

I have started the install, but I was looking to get some answers from the guys that have installed the EU on a 4th gen.

I have read through the DandyMax Guide a few times, but it doesn't describe where the taps/cuts were made in the ECU harness. Reading through the install guide for the S/V-AFC II on vqpower.com, I saw that all of the wires were installed where the plastic cover was, right at the ECU connector. I was able to do the same for all of the power, grounds, and sensors but I don't think I have enough room there for both the injector and ignition coil connections (using butt splices - simpler for me). Now for the questions:
  1. Where did you cut the wires for the injectors and ignition coils?
  2. Did you trace them to the firewall, the driver's side, or were you able to do it at the ECU connector?
  3. Can it be connected somewhere easier than under the dash?
  4. Did you remove/disconnect anything to get at the harness?
  5. Since I have the sensors, power, and grounds connected, could I connect the EU and test it/update the firmware? (I'm the 3rd owner.)
Pictures would be appreciated.

Dear Mr. Crackhead

All my connections are 2inches from the connector end. There is a black plastic cover on the harness/ecu on the pass side. Access it there. And yes to 5.
