Dude you are going to get it for posting this without searching.

I'll answer your question though because thats what forums are for, but thats just me. The 5.5Gens are well known for consuming oil. I heard it was a problem with the piston rings. You might try and replace Valve covers that may help, some people have tried different types of oils, etc. I just have gotten used to it and check the oil weekly......it's really not that big of a deal and wont hurt anything if you don't let it get too low and ruin your engine. I just get a 10k oil filter and change the oil twice a year because I feel its a waste changing oil every 3000 miles when its just going to burn it up and then I'm constantly adding oil in. when I change the oil its usually a regular brown color, not even dark. But you can do what you like. Only way to fix it is rebuild the engine (new pistons and rings) if you got $$$$ like that then have at it!!

I'll be straight up and tell you why they didn't respond. Because there are TONS of posts about the question you asked already on here. All you have to do is search "Oil burning" or "oil consumption" in the 5th gen forum and A TON of posts on this same subject will come up. I'm honestly surprised no one has come in here and slammed your head against the table yet.....maybe some of the guys have had a change of heart??

You sound like the typical idiot that would post a stupid video on YouTube and get flamed. SEARCH FIRST AND ASK QUESTIONS LATER!!! everyone here knows about the 3.5 burning oil, Boone here wants to spoon feed you what we know.
