Difference between catback and no catback

Say I install a ypipe alone, or headers alone, what difference would a catback make on top of that? 7-8whp?

Thanks

the size of the catback you are interested in would be good to know but im sure you know gains vary per car... there isnt a set number, but maybe another 7-10whp from a 2.5" catback and up to 20whp (tuned) with a 3"... all just random numbers to throw at you... i doubt you can get accurate numbers from anyone on this... just buy the catback, dyno, profit

Made a big diff for me with my 3".

Then again I was coming from a stock setup with an exhaust leak. Even with the exhaust leak I still gained power w/ the 3" catback.

^A 2.5 gains approx 4-8 WHP throughout the band w/a y-pipe on a 3.0, I'd guess it would help the midrange torque with near equal length headers more than anything.

Keep in mind that those gains still retain the stock muffler.

This thread is quite pointless really.... the OP needs to buy a catback knowing that there is gains... how much is whatever his local dyno machine reads

Well thank you. No I dont think so for the 3.5. I blew too many gears in my transmission. I also blew a 3.5. I'd like a 3.5 intake manifold though.

Maybe headers and a catback. And smaller 205 50 15 tires to shorten the gear.

Glad to know there are still members with the traction bars and still loving them. I'm thinking of doing a set for this car.

Welcome back JClaw. I still have a set of mint unused JBars. It's a shame they never saw any action before I sold my car.

Jbars are an absolute must - been meaning to make some aluminum plates for em though. Took some tinkering to dial them in to clear an 8 inch/235 , the oil filter and the LCA, but I don't even know what wheel-hop is anymore

I've got a sans-EGR 3.5 upper from an 04 altima (from Lecavalier, go figure, haha) kicking around if you can't source one locally - lemme know and we can work something out.

JClaw, were you looking to buy prefabricated exhaust parts? I emailed BRM Exhaust to see what it would take for a 4th gen exhaust since they make a lot of similar products. http://www.brmexhaust.com/ I'd like a 3" piping kit.
