4.5 3" Exhaust

I picked up a custom 3" exhaust to replace my 2.5" cattman not too long ago and I got around to installing it today. It's all Magnaflow. Cat/Res/Muffler.

I replaced the cat and the section that goes over the rear beam for reasons obvious in the pics.

It definitely screams/pulls harder on the highway.

I hope to get back to the track sometime in the next couple months to see how this and the 75mm TB effect my 102 mph trap. I'll post back here when I go. The exhaust is much more a seat of the pants mod than the TB. Most of any gain should be from the exhaust alone.

Sorry no pics of it from underneath.. my shoulder blades were screaming at me. I still need to get a tip too.

Did you hit the weld points with a coat of paint? Would help protect against rust a bit.

It's stainless tubing and wire. I'm not worried about it.

So.. The original plan was to do 3" from the Y back. I had a free day today so I banged out the forward section.

Old Cattman

3" added

Reworking the front exhaust flange hanger to fit around 3".

Under shots

Very Quiet in deed! How big is the resonator? In comparison to your old cattman setup how is the sound?

Nah on the camera phone. I was using a Canon S5.

The new resonator is 30x6" and the cattman is 22x4". So the volume is over 3times larger with the new res.

The sound is maybe a little louder driving around but deeper and less exotic sounding. The cattman didn't really have much drone on the highway and this setup is quiter than that.

The new section feels like it helped some but I was driving around a box truck yesterday so who knows.
