VQ35 cams in a VQ30

OK, before I get flamed for not searching the forum, just read. I did search the forum and found a lot of helpful information about swapping in 35 cams, and what not. However no one really explains the benefit of it. I'm interested in this project, and I would like to get this done. But how much power does this add? What is the true benefit? If this is already explained, but I could only find info on the actual swap, no specs are usually included. Thank you.

Outside of aftermarket the 2005-6 cams from the 350z and g cars are the best bang for the buck. I have a set from my 3.5 that i will sale for $100 plus shipping

As far as power that depends on mods and tune, no set number for that

More lift and more duration ∴ more air.

Can't really put that in terms of hp as I haven't seen any before after dynos between OEM cams.

Definitely a 'I want to go faster' recommendation though?

Yes, but OEM cams wouldn't be at the top of my 'to do' list.

Make sure you rev to 7200, if not you're wasting. Get a hr or vhr (do your research) oil pump and oem gtr valve springs from nissan parts department. It's worth it, just do some reading.
See ya on the flip side.

If I can't rev to 7200, what is preventing that? I know the stock limit is below that, but is that by design or is it just how the stock configurations work?

Did i just log into www.spoonfeedthenoob.org?

Read. Search. Ask questions. You got it backwards. We are not here to build your car.. Cams are a very tricky and time consuming process. What makes you even think you need to cam your motor? Do you even know what aftermarket cams are good for? Past members have taken the time to share their builds and results for this exact reason. I could go on and on this rant but meh.

If you made it this far without much butt hurt the answer is simple. What are you building this motor for? Keeping the usim or using the uselessvi?

Compare the duration and lift. then look at the dynos of the cams in their native vehicle.

You want the $ per hp questiom answered? Not gonna happen. Sadly us maxima owners aren't as organized as Honda owners but ill sell you a set of 3.5de cams for cheap for lulz.

Oh and the reason you havent found anything is simply because cams and camming motors is a deep topic with a lot of vagueness, because of the reason above you wont be able to go click click and find your answer. Takes a lot of time.

For eg. My 4th gen is still down years later, simply because of the disorganized information on here, can barely get an idea of how to acheive what i wanted.
