Anyone know the definitive torque spec? Because I'veread three equal steps to 85 ft/lb, then Ive read 75-80 ft/lb also. Which one is it ?

If i correctly recall, the torque specs will differ for different sized studs. 11mm studs are 25-50-75 foot pounds. The larger 14mm's are 30-60-85. Starting at the center most bolt and spiraling your way around to the outermost stud.

hmm I went on ARP website for model 202-4701 http://arpinstructions.com/instructions/202-4701.pdf
so it is 85 per instructions... That's what I torqued them all at. But the instructions that I got with the actual kit said 70 ft/lbs. So something's amiss here. Thanks.

I see their diagram referring to (8) 11 mm studs I see no 14mm studs on their diagram nor on any of the VQ30/35 engines I've worked on!

The 14 mm studs are the ARP 2000 variety. The part number is 202-7001-K. The can be torqued up to 100 foot pounds for blown applications. Since my race motor is NA .... my engine builder said that 85-90 was sufficient.

Exactly!

you still need the 3-step torque sequence as well. 30-60-85

if overtorqueing make it a 4-step sequence going over on the last.
