Project Help

Hey there All Motor OGs, I have a few questions to ask and I'm looking for guidance on this possible project.

My current issue with my 96 maxima is that I'm loosing coolant, and it's going into my oil. It's not a massive amount to turn my oil into chocolate milk, but my oil does have water spots.

Here is where I need your guidance. I'm thinking about purchasing a new to me VQ30de engine block, and doing the following;

- OEM head gaskets
-ARP head studs
-JWT S1 cams
-JWT valve springs or OEM ones

I wanted to know in particular if I'm overlooking several things in regards to camming an engine.

Are there other alternatives I could do instead of using the S1 cam. I've never done this type of project, and would like to know what issues I may run into.

Can I just toss in S1s and not worry about the drive train?

I'll be doing some research, but would like some helping hands.

Sorry for the essay. Any help is appreciated.

I think an 07+ Altima 3.5 is a better option in both price and performance than getting another 3.0 and camming it. But then again you do get to deal with smog checks.

You can use aftermarket VQ35DE cams along with a set of cam adapters. http://www.superstreetonline.com/how...vq-street-cam/
