N00B Questions on Building VQ30

I don't have experience in supercharging or putting a turbo into a car and I've never taken apart a motor. I'm looking to buy a new maxima after totaling my last, and I think I'd either like forced induction or a built motor. (i just wanna go fast).

If I go and buy a 99 in good shape at around 150k miles I'd want a fast car to last, say I built the engine up what would my costs be for the basics and results I can expect?

Well first off, even if you add up all seal, gaskets, new bolts, always double that because things happen. One example is on my build, found out my block got some dings on the deck so now I need to get a new block.

As for the VQ30 you don't have many options, rods are a custom order, as said in many threads you are almost better getting a VQ35 it does open up options and easier to get go fast parts. With that said there are a few things you can do to a 99 that would get you a little more power from switching to the 2000 intake, other there is some stuff that you can do that will give you a little more power here and there like exhaust, intake polishing, and just doing a good tune will give you a bit, but power cost money I would look into what you want to spend and start there.....
