VG30DE- VQ30DE-K pistons

OK, this may be a dumb question but can the pistons from the VG30DE fit in the VQ30DE-K? I'm looking for forged pistons and nobody sells forged pistons for VQ30DE-K. But i saw that they do make them for the VG30DE. was just hoping they'd work together.

and before you guys say "why you building a 3.0, just swap it. its cheaper." i already got another 3.0 and started taking it apart, so please, i dont want to hear it. thanks

Bore/Stroke are different for the 2 engines and the CR is also different, so it be uncharted territory and probably not worth the headache.

Contact Wiseco and have them make you a custom set if you're truly hellbent on that. What kind of HP #'s are you shooting for, or you just want to tell people you have forged pistons?

maybe look for VQ30dett pistons if you are looking to go boosted, but I think rods are going to be a issue before pistons, there is a build kit out there for the VQ30 that has pistons I think, if you are trying to go NA you might want to think about going with 35 crank and rods since you can get rods a lot easier and if I rrc it brings up the compression. .... I think someone posted a link to the place with the build kit recently or it pops up on google....

I might have the other parts if you don't have them yet, I have a 350 block that I need to tear down yet, and will be getting a pathfinder motor to replace my 350 block that got messed up, not sure what shape they are in, might also be getting rid of the cams and polished intake.....

Thanks! And I was looking for all new parts. Trying to start fresh at 0miles you know lol. And does cp pistons have a high compression ratio set of pistons for the vq30dek?

I would recommend start sifting though the forums using some google for what it seems that you want to do you are going to spend a bunch for all new parts that you have to have work done to no matter what, VQ engines have tight main bearings if you are going to be driving it like a race car you are going to want to have the crank polished to the loose side anyways plus still pay to have it balanced with the parts you are going to use, so buying a new crank plus still having to have all the work done to it you are better off getting one saving some money for other parts and having the work done to that since it will be the same..... i.e. replacing wear parts in a engine makes it a 0 mile engine unless your talking buying a new block and all from nissan anything other then then that is just a rebuild anyways, just offering since I will be getting rid of stuff cheep just to get rid of it and since I would offer it on this forum first.........

there is a bunch of knowledge on in this place and yes it take many hours to read though what people have done or made work the 30 stuff is more then likely be in some of the older stuff but I do recommend you start reading and doing some searching. I have no idea on the days I have spent reading though stuff for my other car project yes a bunch comes from here and some comes from other places most of the questions you have asked are easy info to find right down to the size of the 30 vs 35 wrist pin size difference is...... it takes one of two things to build a engine the ability to do the work or the ability to pay someone to do the work, if you don't understand mechanical processes with a side of fluid dynamics you better have skills that make you money to pay someone who does

You'll need 4 of those said cams, and the Z33 has the same cams as our 3.5 DE. Unless you go with the 287 non IVT version, but even then there are plenty of aftermarket VQ35 cam options out there all of which are better than stock.

maybe like $75 plus shipping, I will have to make sure they are good first, no major damage from spun bearing and such, working out shipping for my new motor now so should have that kinda soon.

like NmexMax said there are aftermarket cams that are better, plan on about $1200 for those, I haven't decided if I'm going aftermarket yet or just stay with my 350z 9.5mm lift ones I have

http://www.superstreetonline.com/how...vq-street-cam/

also keep in mind that the VQ lifter buckets are solid so the only way to adjust lash is replace the bucket, don't forget to keep about $400 in your budget just for that...
