You should use a 6 speed manual. The gearing in the 5 speed is not so good. You can pretty much drive the 5speed in 5th all day. Only sucks on the highway, you''ll be looking to shift up all day when cruising and you cant.
If you have a VQ35 to start with - then use a 6 speed transmission.
Gearing aside, there are differences in the flywheel and flywheel signal plate between the 3.0/5mt and the 3.5/6mt setups among many other sensor and setup changes (like the e throttle you mentioned) so you can't just install a 3.0 ECU on a 3.5.
Hi, sorry to be intrusive...I just found this thread and interested! I have also a Nissan Teana J32, it's a 2012... engine for our market here in Thailand it's a VQ25DE with CVT JF011E... would it be possible to swap it with a manual transmission?? any idea which trans model will fit to the engine?
Thank you thousands for attention...
