Vq35de swap problems

Well I will start off from the start of it all with me picking up a 2003 vq35 from a just yard. I used my vq30 timing and ecu from my 1999 max. Got everything hooked up. Tried to starte the car and the engine had no compression at all. I then took the engine out and broke it down to find out the rings were all stuck in the pistons. So I did a full rebuild put it back in to end up with little compression. I have the engine back out now and I am trying to think of what the hell I could be doing wrong here. Thanks ahead of time for the help.

Assuming it cranks, do you have fuel pressure, injector pulse and spark?

Are the injectors pulsing? You can check with a small bulb.

Also, remove the crank position sensor where the engine and trans meet and make sure the tip is lined up with the VQ30 timing ring. Depending on the 3.5 you have to slot the sensor bolt hole to line it up.

S*** I already took the engine back out. I will make sure I do that when its back together again. I am just trying to get some good brain storming going on. Also trying to see where I may have f up.

Did you use an OEM timing kit?

Yeah the other thing is these can skip the timing on first start up if the hydraulic tensioners aren't primed with oil.

I did prime it before installing that. Is there a way the tensioner can lose pressure over time. When I put the engine together I did let it sit for 2 months in my garage before installing it.

I did a swap with a mismarked chain, took 3 engine pulls to figure it out. That's what I get for not using OEM.

Yes I did use cam adapters. Also I just found out my friend has a 2012 maxima engine sitting in his shop that he will let me get for cheap. I probably going with that I just need to figure out if I'm going to try to run the vq30 timing or go full on vq35.
