Please help with battery connection

Does someone have a pic or something to show me what they did at the + battery terminal. I was just looking it over on my 96 Maxima and it has some other proprietary connectors on it. Did you use a aftermarket battery terminal and hook the extra connectors to it and used some aftermarket T-connectors? Did you cut the "snap on" connector off of the factory harness?? I would prefer not to cut anything off but will if I have to. Help please!

I just need a way to hook up a the car's factory power wire to the battery as well as keep all the existing factory power wires connected and be able to add a big guage amp power wire.

Thanks in advance!

Julian

I bought a terminal from knukonceptz.com. I put my alternator wire, and 1/0ga power wire on to the holes, and put the accesory thing on top under the screw.

UPDATE:

Stupid me.. forgot that I traded somebody for a redtop while he worked at a shop. I just used the existing GM post and went straight into a ANL fuse holder double sided taped on the fuse box. It looks great.

Thanks though..

This is another reason for you to go out and buy a aftermarket battery..

Alright, so you can't add in a 4g wire with a ring terminal on the end of the cable with that big azz red plastic jobby on there? Hoseriffic. What's the size of the alternator cable? I guess I'll go new terminal connector, or just have an installer do the whole thing and save the violence for Black and White

That what I was having a problem with... knowing what to do with all the extra connections on the factory cable. I didn't feel like cutting them... Luckily with the side terminal posts.. I was able to use 0 awg and not have to cut cables.

I would cut the cables. Primarily because the big harness they go through is high resistance compared to an aftermarket battery terminal. Get less resistance through the connector, and save headaches down the road. A new terminal will have a variety of connection points. The one I have has two 1/0 connections and two 8 gauge. More common are terminals with dual 4 gauge connections. The two little wires on the factory harness can easilly be connected to a single 4 gauge terminal connector, or all the factory wires twisted together and connected to a 1/0 terminal connector.
