? about clipping
i have 2 eclipse 12" and a kicker dx700 amp, and my speakers cut out every so often on different songs. I have a cap, i have tried everything lowered the amp to almost nothing, turned the bass all the way down on the HU....i dunno im tired of it cutting out.
the only thing i can think of is my mp3 deck is making the bass cutoff due to lousy encodes..
somone please help me out

You sure it's clipping protection and not overheating? I guess you could tell by letting it sit for a while and then playing one of the hard drawing songs that it cuts out on right after turning it on...
And the wiring matches the draw from the amp, right?

If you havent tried already, try driving around with your seats down or your trunk pass-through window open, depending on what year your max is.
I would think fans wouldn't be enough to keep an amp that overheated a lot cool, but who knows. A 120mm 72cfm Sunon case fan or two might, at the expense of drowning out the music with a siren droning sound (I have one of those as the side intake fan on my PC, it moves a lot of air)
