Bose CD player questions

I have a 99 SE with the Bose CD player. Lately it has been really weird. It either skips continuously or just doesn't play the CD and says "Err". I know that the problem is not with my lens (I have cleaned it and it still doesn't work) or my CDs (they played fine prior to about a month or so ago). I was wondering if this is a common problem or if mine is just really screwed up. I was hoping that someone could tell me if this is a fixable (and affordable) problem, or if I would be better off getting an aftermarket CD player. Also, does anyone know how much a new factory Bose CD player would cost me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you get a aftermarket deck and you want to keep the BOSE speakers then your going to have to buy a adapter. Also they might try to charge you alot for a new stock deck. And the Err problem you get happened to me a few times and in my friends maxima he had the same problem and he found out it was the deck that was messed up.
