are there any known issues with subs facing up?

If you guys read my other thread, you know that I am trying to get serious with my system, so please bear with all the questions.

I have 2 audiobahn alum15x. Since I am planing on mounting my amp flush, I will need to raise the floor, but the size of the box will prevent me from raising it. My only other choise it to place them facing up. I know that the best way to determine if it's good is to try it myself, but I just wanted to know if there are any known disadvantages to doing this.(like exess rattling, or worse soundquality) Please give me your thoughts.

The only issue would be sag. The probability of the cone sinking in becasue of gravity. If you are significantly below recommended power, it won't matter. Basically it's the percentage of lost excursion that matters. I don't have the formula handy. But I can't think of a quality sub that can not be mounted horizontal.

i've had my subs playin from about 4" from the top of my trunk for a while ...i was told bein so close it "loads" the subs, allowing them to handle more power because of the resistance in front of the excusion ...my 15s are also ported how ever ..i dont know if it would help with a seal box though

One other thing is that you will really need to dampen the rear deck quite a bit. Otherwise, with the subs firing directly at it theyou will get quite a bit of distortion from the vibration.
