Funny thing I saw (especially for installers....)

Yesterday a guy wanted me to take a look at his car. He has a 2K2 BMW M3 convertible (nice car no doubt). When he told me the equiptment he had I was pretty impressed at first...

PG 500.4ti
PG 600.2ti
PG powercore
Focal Utopia subs in a compression box
Focal Utopia front
Focal Utopia rear

Now heres the funny parts...

Factory HU with Navi, this he wanted to keep for obvious reasons..OK.
BUT whoever installed it used A cheap High level convertor YES just one. The level conv. uses several y-splitters to run the amps.

Box was made from PLYWOOD 1/2". Port into the car was square. And a total of about 15 screws holding the box together.

The place charged him $70hr for labor which alot do, BUT said that it took 110 hours of labor !!! There are no trim panels made yet, so everything is just in there quite simple.

BUT wait theres more......

The guy asked me for an EQ because he has too much distortion!!!!

I explained to him that an EQ would only enhance the distortion that he already has. When I played with the radio a little bit, I was not impressed one bit. ( I saw this coming) It actually sounded no better than stock.

Total price he paid so far for this setup is $11000.

I just figured that some of you guys in this business would appreciate a good
