Seeking knowledge

I am seeking knowledge in the area of car audio...

My current system:

2 12" JL Audio W3 woofers powered by the MTX Thunder6000
Phoenix Gold Components up front, Infinity 2 ways out back...powered by Orion 200watt 4 channel amp...with 50watt RMS
Alpine CDA-7892 as my HU~~which I love!
Also a 1f cap.
All run on 4 gauge wire.

Now, what I am looking for knowledge is the area of mobile video!...I know what I want but dont know what it is that i want...does that make sense :P

Let me clarify...

I would like a flip out screen...which plays DVD's CD's(and optional MP3's not totally necessary) I would like this screen to be able to have the potential for adding a ps2 in the future...

~what are my options there~ Alpine and Kenwood??

Also, I was wondering if it was possible...for that screen i get to play a CD through my speakers WHILE I play ps2...or is this not possible, If i keep my alpine deck, and get a DVD flip out screen and add ps2..is it now possible...

If nething needs to be explained more...please ask!!!

Thanks in advance for your help! and if ANYONE is selling a used screen like the one i am describing DONT BE SHY!!! throw me a PM

I have a similar setup and this is what I did. I wanted to keep my deck since I have the 7894 MP3 model. I bought an adapter which turns the CD Changer input into an audio input. Then I bought the Alpine CVA 1005 6.5" screen. I hooked the video from my PS2 into the screen and the audio into my deck, so I'm only using the screen for video, and my deck for all the audio. If you do this you'll have everything you want and the PS2. You can play DVDs through the PS2, CDs through your old deck, and games on the PS2. It also will fill out the dash because you have both the screen & deck in. If you do what I did it would probably also be the cheapest way to go. You can get the CVA-1003 for about $850, a PS2 for $200, and a power inverter so you can power the PS2 for around $30. That's only around $1100 for everything. If you get the Kenwood 911 you'll pay a lot more, but you'll have MP3 capability & a TV Tuner. You won't have the PS2 though. I think the Kenwood goes for around $1700. I'd assume that you would be able to play PS2 & a CD at the same time with the Kenwood, with my setup you can definately do this. A friend of mine who sold me my screen has a second one for sale if you are interested. LMK if you want me to ask him how much he'd sell it for.

Whichever setup you go with you will be able to do this.

I sell both the Alpine and the Kenwood if interested.

The cheapest way to go would be using the input on your old deck and just adding a 7"widescreen into your double din opening. Relocate the radio to the lower pocket. The screen would run you about $250.

You can do a search to see how it would look and ask RedMax how he likes it. I did his awhile back when he was asking some of the similiar questions.

Yes you can just play PS2 and have music on at the same time. Your full stereo will also work as the sound for the DVDs that you play.

Video is actually quite simple...you need power/ground and a source. That is it.

ok...does this screen you know about fit right in my dash...?

And have you seen a 3rd generation yet where you could find a spot for my Alpine Deck...I looked at my car, and i thought down where they have that stupid coin rack wouldnt be a bad idea, but i have NO clue HOW i would get it to fit!

Fitting the screen is the easy part, finding a location for your deck is rather difficult. Could you email a pic of your dash to me?
