I want to put some blacklights and some neons in my car. But I've already got two wires attached to the positive terminal of my battery and don't feel like running another wire inside.

I've posted up a diagram below and tell me if it'll work.

The only thing is... I'm going to tap into the wire that originally came with the light flasher module... twice. And be interrupting it with an on/off switch.

Will it be okay to tap into it twice? Will the one wire be able to handle both blacklights and the neons? And I'm also thinking about tapping it again with another neon, one that is not attached to the light flasher module. Will that work as well?

And the module isn't a big one, it's kinda small.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

If you are running all 5 lights off of that one wire, which is probably about 16guage, thats not gonna work to well. they will be dim or not work at all, and be even dimmer when stereo is up loud, lights on, etc. I suggest maybe running another wire from your battery. if you dont want to do that, attach one large (2 or 4 guage) wire to your battery, and run it to under yourdash or passanger side seat, then use a distribution block to split up the power. probably the best solution. and if you have a stereo in your car (amps, subs) you might want to think about a dual-battery isolator or a farad cap to stop everything from dimming when your amps hit.

That will work, but not well at all. That is a fire hazzard waiting to happen. That is one too many to tap into tthe cig lighter. Plus you will be blown those fuses like nothing. You dont have to always tap into the battery. Get a probe or a volt meter and look for a constant power or a ignition wire so that it could only turn on when the car is on. ANother thing is that you can tap into your amp power wire. Look around under the dash and see what you can find. Remember to fuse it too or kiss all the car goodbye. Electrical fires are not nice either.

I decided just to hook up the two neons that came with the flasher module to it. It has an on/off switch on it so I don't have to worry about that.

And I'm gonna just hook up the two blacklights up by themselves.

Thanks for all the help.

don't you blow fuses

i think you have to many thing hooked up to the lighter.

do what i did for all my aux. lights. i wired a 6 gauge wire from the battery through the firewall and into a switch box. the box isn't completed yet but it would have 6 or more switches all taped into the 6 guage wire. i didn't like the way it looked when they were conected to the lighter to dull. its much brighter on the batt. make sure and use a fuse.

Re: don't you blow fuses

how would you fuse the wire? Which fuse would you use and where would you get it and how to install it properly?
