2K Max GXE wanting a thumpin' system...
(i posted this in the 5th gen but no one responded... perhaps you guys can help me)
hey all,
it's nearing christmas time... thinking about treating m'Maxima to a li'l som'in som'in... hehehe....
i've got an ArcAudio amp ready to go (4050 CXL http://www.arcaudio.com/arc_4050.htm if you're interested) oh, it's designed by Zapco btw.
the thing puts out 4x55... but my GXE's only got 120watts of paper to offer. it would seem like a waste for such an awesome amp... any suggestions?
oh, and would anyone suggest putting a sub box in the trunk or in the rear dash? the sound seems a little imbalanced w/o something in the rear.

It is up to you to decide if ou want to keep the amp.
If you keep it, since its a 4 channel and you want sound from all 4 corners, use that to power some coaxils or serperates (components). Believe it or not, a lot of sound competitors would rahter only have a front stage and a rear sub only.
If you want something simple adn clean, just get a box and put that in your truck and you cam mount your amps to the box or bcak of the seat.
This all depends on your budget and how special you want the stereo to be.

Get a decent set of component speakers for up front and a single sub for the trunk. That'll use up your amp channels; since the rears just provide fill, they should be fine running off the head unit power. If the rear is still lacking, you can always come back later and upgrade the speakers or add another amp.
