I've been told that console-mounted DVD players won't work while you are driving, as a safety feature. If the car is not in park, the DVD screen will not turn on, or it won't play video. Is there any truth to this?

Hmm, any laws against the installer doing this? Or if I'm driving down the street watching a movie, will the police pull me over if they see me?

you can bypass it, but it is not legal to have a video screen where the driver can see it.

Is it the same in every state (TX)?

Thanks for the information all, I'm getting tired of missing the Simpsons everyday at 5PM while I'm stuck in traffic.

LOL! That's the same exact thing Matt(attax) told me. I feel for you guys, on my previous job it wasn't much of a problem since i took off at 3:30

Anyway, you can bypass hooking up the ground to the parking brakes. The manual should have instructions for these.

Cool, I'll probably try to install the DVD system myself. I'm about finished blasting Linkin Park and Puddle of Mudd while driving. Now I can listen to the Simpsons instead.

Pioneer HU, Infinity speakers front and rear on RF 300W amp, 12" sub with mono amp. Gets pretty loud. I'm considering dynamat (or a similar product), but I crank it up loud enough that I can't notice any rattles or sound quality loss .
