Fuzzy pillar tweeter replacement

What size tweeters go in the tweeter pods in the A pillars? Are they easy to replace?

I think they are 1" and yes, they are pretty easy to remove and leaves a nice spot for new tweets if you so choose

They may possibly be 1", but I'd like to see you mount another tweet in there using the same mount. Also, the opening for the tweet is not what you expect it to me.

Trust me, if you want to replace the tweet, open up your door, or go to a good shop that has worked on a 4th gen max before.

When you actually do see the stock tweet, you're gonna say, what they heck is that?

True, I assumed the 4g was the same as the 5g as far as the tweet goes. I didn't mave much problem mounting another one there, wasn't as good a fit as the clarion that was in there, but I like the location myself over the door option. Now wiring a component set without drilling a hole in the door, that I haven't managed. I know the pros can do it, but that tube of wires is packed tight.

The factory tweets are 3/4"...difficulty of replacment depends on how nice you want it to look if you reaim it or just try to drop it in...But some work will be needed.

Break out the dremel, it's go time baby! Several pages list them as 1", but they are weak a$$ little things no matter the size. I think the GXE non-premium has no holes in the pillars so you can make your own, which would be ideal, but most of us have the "premium" crap in there. Anyway, good luck. Take some pics for the guys here. I may redo mine with another set, make a writeup on the subject..... If I'm not too lazy

Ok guys like me help you out here.
I bought the kicker R13 Tweeter. I intalled it flush mount where the hole is int he door. It fits very nicely. All you have to do is trim a circle in the door panely where the weird looking one is already. These look like a custom install done by a shop and i did them myself. I'm very happy with the results. I will post pics whenever i get a chance. Oh and they are 3/4". But it really doesnt matter cuz all you have to do is trim the hole a lil bigger for a 1".
Oh and they sound very good so if your lookin for some nice tweeters then i recommend these.

I drilled a hole in the right A-pillar and used one of the mounts that came with the tweeter. For the left side pillar, I couldn't get the drill to fit because of the dash, so I just stuck the tweeter there with double-sided tape, then put the A-pillar on. The pillar holds the tweeter firmly in place, and so far it sounds great.
