New System Review: Alpine Subs/Fosgate Amp

Well I finally got the new subs I wanted to replace my constantly blowing Audiobahn subs. I got two 12" Alpine Type R DVC's...Hook up perfectly to my Rockford Fosgate 800.2...2ohms each = 400 RMS to each sub...the bench sheet says 996 so it might really be closer to 500 RMS per sub. I have the subs inside a REALLY thick MTX box which costs about $100-$150, not sure on the exact price as I got all of this at a nice discount. Well the subs sound great, really loud, really deep. People describe sitting in the back seat as "having the subs breathe for you." I have a lot more rattles now that I never had before and they drive me crazy...such as the rear deck, which is the biggest annoyance. My trunk is now in dire need of dynomat or some sort of sound deadening material now. Overall I love being able to turn down my headunit bass to negative 3 and have my system pump real clear with no distortion from the speakers. I wanna go to a local amateur competition just for fun to find out what DB I hit. Any guesses? Well I'm out guys, this is a reccomended setup for anyone trying to get the loudest bass they can for a relatively low price.

sound deadner

if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to dynamat use dayton loudspeaker dampning materials. It cost's $18.00 for a 32" by 54" sheet and it is the same thing as the orginal series dynamat. You can find it on www.partsexpress.com
good luck. oh yeah supposedly according to the dampning company's you can add 3db to your system with their products. Just keeps more of the sound in your car instead of being absorbed by your car's vibrating body parts
